How to: holographic Christmas makeup

We’ve been loving the heavily highlighted, super-glossy look this season, so we’re making it party appropriate. Taking inspo from everyone’s obsession with all things holographic, we’ve created this gorgeous look, which will see you through any seasonal shindig. It’s glossy, it’s glowy – and it’s just the kind of glam we’re looking for this Christmas.

Eyes on the prize

First up, you want to lay down a pink-y purple-y base on your lids. Choose the MUA Eyeshadow Palette in Cosmic Vixen as it’s got all the hues you’ll need. Apply a light baby pink shade to your crease, then hit the centre of your eyelids with a bright peach to add definition. Deepen your crease and outer corner with a mixture of the purple shades.

Time for sparkle

To get the holographic effect, pack MUA Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter in Pink Shimmer onto your eyelids until you’re satisfied with the shimmer. Top off your lids with Rimmel Lip Art in #010 for some serious sheen.

Lashes and liner

Time to define those peepers. Wing out the liner with MUA Matte Liquid Liner in Black and apply Eylure Luxe Collection Lashes in Bauble to give your lashes some va-va-voom.

Blinding baby

Now for the highlight. Dust your cheekbones with the centre shade of the MUA Prism Jelly Highlight in Light Spark, then top with a sweep of the Pink Shimmer highlight you used on your lids.

Light up your lippy

Now to perfect your pout. Line your lips with the bright pink from the Revlon Color Charge Lip Powder in High Fever. Tap this out with your finger to soften, then coat with the MUA Luxe Lip Gloss in Aurora Shine. If you want even more sparkle, tap some silver lip powder from High Fever on top of the gloss.
